Born in Fukushima, Japan, Yoko started her ballet training at Hitomi Takeuchi Ballet School. At a young age, she began winning prizes at national ballet competitions such as the Sendai Ballet Competition, All Japan Ballet Competition and Japan NBA Ballet Competition, to name a few.
Upon graduating high school, Yoko moved to Vancouver to join Pacific DanceArts School where she completed her ballet training before starting her professional career as a dancer.
Yoko joined the Atlanta Ballet Company under the direction of John McFall, where she had the privilege to perform in such ballets as Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Fire Bird, Don Quixote, Peter Pan, Serenade (Balanchine), Dracula and Moulin Rouge. She has also worked with renowned choreographers James Kudelka, Mark Godden, Michael Pink, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Bruce Wells and more.
In 2017, she joined Coastal City Ballet to perform leading roles in ballets such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Raymonda and Joshua Beamish’s Butterfly Lovers.
