Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Luella Nandra began her dance training at the Joffrey Academy of Chicago from a young age. Luella then went to San Francisco for Alonzo King Lines’ training program where she worked with and learned from Alonzo King, Natasha Adorlee, Alex Ketley, Carmen Rozestraten, Gregory Dawson, Babatunji Johnson, Moscelyne Parke-Harrison, Maurya Kerr and others. After earning certificates from both Joffrey’s conservatory and Alonzo King Lines Ballet’s training program, she danced at Visceral Dance Chicago, collaborating with esteemed choreographers and teachers including but not limited to Micaela Taylor, Kevin O’Day, Gustavo Ramirez, Margurite Dolon, Jessi Steegal and Nick Pupillo. Luella utilizes a diverse movement vocabulary and is eager to expand it further.
