Madeleine Nicholls grew up in North Vancouver, B.C. She recently completed an internship with Introdans in the Netherlands. During her time there she received Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and an Artist Certificate.
Throughout her time in Europe, Madeleine performed and studied works by choreographers including Jiří Kylián, Crystal Pite, Jan Linkens, Thiago Bordin, Nils Christe, Didy Veldman and Hans van Manen, alongside classical repertoire such as La Bayadère and Raymonda. Madeleine participated in NDT’s Young Talent Project in 2023, and 2024 working with Aya Misaki, Cesar Fernandes and Jon Bond.
While with Introdans, she toured the Netherlands performing in Igor Bacovich and Iratxe Ansa’s Promises, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s Carmen, and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s In Memoriam and Fall.
Prior to her time abroad, Madeleine trained at Ballet Bloch Canada under the direction of Tracy Lee Bloch, taught by Muriel Teague, Thomas Teague, and Monica Proenca. In her time at Ballet Bloch she had the chance to perform Romeo and Juliet with Ballet West Artist, Jake Preece.
In April 2026 Madeleine joined Ballet Edmonton’s season finale, Lumen, where she performed in the works Indelible Stain and Valie-Me by Diego Ramalho. She is thrilled to be returning to Canada to continue her journey with Ballet Edmonton for the 2026/2027 season.
