Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Nigel Clifford recently graduated summa cum laude from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance on full scholarship. Committed to continually expanding his artistry, he has trained through renowned intensives and workshops with Springboard Danse Montréal, RUBBERBAND, Ballet Jazz Montréal, Domaine Forget, Ballet BC and Orsolina28. Nigel has performed works by acclaimed choreographers including Crystal Pite, Aszure Barton, Juliano Nuñes, FLOCKWORKS, Lar Lubovitch and others. In 2024, he was honored to participate in James Gregg’s residency at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City, supported by the Princess Grace Foundation. Alongside performing, Nigel is an award-winning choreographer and dedicated educator. He is especially passionate about floorwork and exploring the intersection of movement pathways, musicality and expressive storytelling. As an emerging artist, Nigel is thrilled to begin this next chapter with Ballet Edmonton and looks forward to contributing to and growing within Canada’s vibrant artistic ecosystem.
