Me, My Selfie And I

October 4, 2017

Meet your Citie Ballet company! We asked a Citie Ballet dancer to share a selfie and some tidbits about his life in the company!

Meet Mitchell Przybilla – the Edmonton-born dynamo who studied at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School before joining the ranks of Citie Ballet this season.

What/who inspired you to audition for Citie Ballet?

I decided to audition for Citie Ballet because I had the opportunity to work with Jorden while I was in the professional division at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) and I had enjoyed that experience. I also knew several of the dancers in the company who had graduated from the RWB before me, so it was nice to have some familiar faces!

What are your hobbies outside of Citie Ballet?

Outside of dance I spend most of my free time with my girlfriend and our two pets, a dog named Maple and a cat named Pigs. We go on lots of family walks and spend our down time curled up watching movies!

Is there a choreographer you are dreaming to work with?

I love work by Jirí Kylián. I’ve had some opportunities to learn his work and would like to perform it one day. I would also enjoy the chance to work with Sol León and Paul Lightfoot – the house choreographers for Nederlands Dans Theater.

What is one of your favourite places to go in Edmonton?

Some of my favourite places to go in Edmonton have been Mill Creek Ravine and Whitemud Park. I’m still exploring and finding new trails to hike!
