NEW FOR SUMMER 2025! Expanded hours and dedicated creation classes with Artistic Director Kirsten Wicklund.
Ballet Edmonton Summer Dance Intensive offers dedicated dance students the opportunity to learn from professional dancers and choreographers and work on repertoire that expands their physical vocabulary. This intensive is designed to help students with a strong technical foundation explore new perspectives on contemporary dance practices.
Daily classes in ballet, contemporary, improvisation, and repertoire. Pointe work is welcome during ballet class and relevant repertoire sessions but is not a requirement for the intensive.
REQUIREMENTS: No audition is required, but applicants need a minimum of five years of ballet training.
Program Dates
August 18-22, 2025
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Class Schedule
9:00am-10:30am Morning class (Ballet / Contemporary)
10:30am – 10:45am Break
10:45am – 12:00pm Improvisation
12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch
1:00 – 3:30 Repertoire / Creation Session / Special Session
There will be a studio showing for friends and family on the last day of class at 3:00 pm.

Ages
Ages 15-24 with at least five years of ballet training.
Accommodations
Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation while in Edmonton.
