Gioconda Barbuto and Wen Wei Wang will create two new pieces for our final performance of the season.
Gioconda is an internationally recognized Italian-Canadian dancer and choreographer with over 50 works to her credit and has created work for internationally acclaimed dance companies including Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Ballet BC, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Alberta Ballet and Ballet Kelowna, to name a few.
This stunning new piece by Gioconda Barbuto explores the physical dialogue that develops in a collective atmosphere. This work reflects how we shape, shift, mold and encompass space. The audience will be immersed in a physical conversation; a manifestation of orchestral movement and honest intent.

Set to Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic masterpiece The Four Seasons, each movement is a musical homage to the season it reflects. From the serene beauty of snow to the kaleidoscope of colour that follows the frostbitten winter, Wen Wei Wang’s Le Quattro is a celebration.
“Behold, my friends, the spring has come. The earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun; and we shall soon see the results of their love!“
