Each season, we create original productions with a variety of choreographers from around the world. Ballet Edmonton is committed to pushing the boundaries of ballet to expand the notion of how it is expressed, reflecting the unique vision of each creator we invite to join us.
2023/2024
With three mainstage programs at the Triffo Theatre in downtown Edmonton, Ballet Edmonton’s 2023/2024 season features a dynamic collection of exciting voices in contemporary dance. Included in the season are four world premieree including new works from Canadian creators Ethan Colangelo and Kirsten Wicklund and renowned US-based choreographer James Gregg. We also bring back to the stage two previous works by Artistic Director Wen Wei Wang and a work from Italian-Canadian choreographer Gioconda Barbuto. We close the season with a world premiere collaboration between Ballet Edmonton’s Artistic Director, Wen Wei Wang, and the High Level Trio with the music of John Estacio.
